Hello Esports Fans!

Winning by a convincing two maps to none, Fnatic continues their dominance in Counter-Strike by defeating SK Gaming in the KODE5 2008-2009 Global Finals.

Fnatic looked nigh unstoppable after defeating Wicked Esports in the semis. Riding that momentum, they managed to shutout SK Gaming and claim the KODE5 2008-2009 Global championship title.

Here are the final standings:

1st Place - Fnatic ($25,000)

2nd Place - SK Gaming ($10,000)

3rd Place - Wicked Esports ($5,000)

Here is a gallery of some pictures from today’s event!

I want to take this opportunity to once again thank our Global Supporters CM Storm and QPAD, as well as our local partners USN Computers and Proplay for putting forth such tremendous effort to build this event. Also, I want to give props to the entire KODE5 Crew who worded tirelessly to organize and execute this tournament. Without our sponsors and our team, KODE5 would simply not be possible.

Many thanks to the teams that traveled so far to come and participate in the event - you guys really put on a great show. And last, but not least, thanks to everyone who took the time to tune in at home and support KODE5. I hope everyone had a great time - whether you were watching at home or at the event itself. This has, by far, been our most successful season, and I look forward to building on our strengths and patching up our shortcomings. As long as everyone continues to participate and enjoy our events, I’m confident that KODE5 will continue on year after year.

Once again, thanks for watching. This is KODE5 Lester signing out.

Hello Esports Fans!

It’s KODE5 Lester here again coming to you live from the KODE5 2008-2009 Global Final in Moscow, Russia.

We have reached the second and final day of the tournament. Along the way, we’ve seen some impressive victories and some upsets as well. But today, with Fnatic, SK Gaming, mTw, and Wicked Esports waiting to square off in just a few minutes, I believe we are going to see some truly incredible matches.

It hasn’t been easy to get to this point. And, after somehow managing to injure my hand yesterday, typing this message to you has been its own small challenge. However, KODE5 will continue to do our best to bring you the best gaming events we possibly can and further develop this thing we call Esports.

Of course, none of this would be possible without the generous assistance of our Global Supporters CM Storm and QPAD. I would also like to thank Microsoft, Capcom, and 1C for bringing our Street Fighter IV Challenge to life, and Clanserver4U.de for providing us some incredible servers for HLTV.

Finally, I want to thank the folks at home for tuning in and supporting KODE5 all these years. We coming to the end of our third season, and with your continued support, myself and the rest of the KODE5 team look forward to bringing you KODE5 Season 4 and beyond.

With that, I hope you enjoy the rest of our show. I will be back with more pictures and event coverage later on in the day. If I am a bit slow with updates, please forgive me — typing is slow-going to say the least. =P

We are minutes away from start time. May the best team win!
